The RCA Amateur Radio Club welcomes submissions for homebrew projects, hints and tips, or other information relating to the hands-on activity that is the heart of ham radio. To assist you in this effort, we'll try and make some parts available (read on)...
SHARE THE WEALTH PROJECT
The RCA ARC, whose members are all active or former employees of Thomson, RCA, or GE Consumer Electronics, occasionally gets donations of surplus electronic parts. Some of these parts are potentially useful to homebrewers, and so we have a "Share the Wealth" program.
The way it works is this: We will post a list of available parts on this page (see below). You look through the list, and if you see something that you need for something you are trying to build, send us an email, with your snail mail address and and tell us what you want and how many. We'll put the part(s) in the mail to you. When you get them, look at the package they came in. See how much the postage was, and send us that much, plus one dollar for packaging and handling. It would also be very nice if you'd give us some idea just what the project is they're intended for.
The program works on the honor system. These parts are intended for homebrewing. They don't have to be part of an active project you're in the middle of right now, but our intent is not to give these parts to someone who is only interested in reselling them. This is by hams, for hams. For this reason, we will reserve the right to limit the quantities we send any one person.
We will try to keep the list of parts up to date, but the quantities we have available vary greatly, and if a particular part proves popular, we could run out quickly.
